A magical Christmas play village

Wildlands Winter Wonderland 2023

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and for its third year Baile Beag is again being transformed into a beautiful atmospheric Christmas-themed play village! Here children can explore their imagination in our immersive Wildlands Winter Wonderland experience.
This experience is best suited for children aged up to 8 years of age. Older children are of course welcome and we will have age appropriate gifts for older children! The visit to the Baile Beag Christmas play village will last one hour.  Ticket includes complimentary playground; fairy trails and junior orienteering pass for children and parents, spend the day with us!  
 
The start of each visit will be spent in the village interacting with Santa’s elves and Mrs. Claus. Children can post their letter to the North Pole in our custom made Christmas Post Box, meet Santa’s elves, help a sick reindeer in our reindeer hospital, see the Christmas tree lights and enjoy a reading of “The Night Before Christmas” by Mrs. Claus, all before Santa himself lands down the chimney to all the visitors in an Baile Beag with a Ho-Ho-Ho and a bump! Santa will then meet each family individually in his grotto, interacting with every child who has come to visit him, before giving every child an environmentally friendly sustainable gift from his workshop and a family photo (included in price). 
In line with our ethos at Wildlands our prices include a sustainable environmentally-friendly gift for all children. Ticket includes a complimentary takeaway hot chocolate with marshmallows and homemade cookie for each child and a mulled wine/hot drink from the Wildlands Wagon for the adults at the end of their visit.Festive cheer and spirit guaranteed!

A ticket gives the child and their parents complimentary use of the Fairy Trails, Playground & Junior Orienteering for the day.

Please note that food and drinks are not permitted in the Christmas Village.Play visits will run Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from Friday November 17th and Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in December and also on Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st, Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd December.

Visit Santa Galway

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays December 1st – 23rd,
4-7 pm Fridays
12-6pm Saturdays, Sundays

Every year, Santa plans a stop at Slieve Aughty Centre, where he enjoys a soft chair next to a cosy fire in his cabin while he visits with children from around the country.  Each family gets scheduled personal time with Santa and a small gift.
Before and/or after your Santa visit there are lots of other things to do. Pet Santa’s “pony” reindeer and the donkeys at the live nativity, browse the Christmas Shop, chat with other families over a cup of hot chocolate and home-made pancakes, and enjoy the festive music.  The kids can make some crafts, get their faces painted, and meet a friendly polar bear while waiting for storytelling (all included in your entry cost!).

Save some room for home-made treats and organic mulled wine at The Three Tower Organic Kitchen, open all day .

Slieve Aughty Centre’s Christmas Festival offers something new and different, with live characters, storytelling, arts and crafts, shows, animals, the Snow Queen and more. You never know who will be visiting or what surprises are in store. What we do promise is that you will experience a Christmas Festival like no other with a family feel.
