Christmas at Lullymore Heritage Discovery Park Kildare

RETURNING CHRISTMAS 2021, SEE YOU THEN….

Unfortunately there will be no Christmas event at Lullymore Heritage Park for 2020, see you next year!

 

Santa arrives in Lullymore on Saturday 30th of November and departs for the North Pole on Monday 23rd of December 2019. A magical experience for both young and old is guaranteed as the park is transformed into a Winter Wonderland of family fun with some very special guests to entertain you along the way! Your 2019 Christmas visit will include:

A memorable visit to Santa and a gift from the busy Elves in their workshop. Funky Forest Indoor Centre becomes a Winter Wonderland and don’t forget to have fun with the elves when you visit here! A Festive Train trip – the Lullymore Christmas Express will take you on a magical trip through ancient woodlands, glassy lakes and a beautiful peatland landscape. Christmas Holograms in old style thatched cottage, Crib scene in Early Christian Centre and illuminated walkway to Fairy Bower. Animals such as donkeys, goats and miniature horses will be in paddocks beside Indoor Centre. Welcome Santa and his merry friends as they arrive on the Lullymore Christmas Express Road Train at 10am weekends and 2pm Wednesday to Friday.

Easter Slime Lab at EPIC Dublin

There’s a slime and a place for getting messy and it’s here with us at our Easter Slime Lab at EPIC!

Catherine McGuinness will be returning to the museum for a seriously slimy science lab. Themed around Easter, we’ll be making slime in spring colours, such as pink, blue and yellow! Come along, get creative, get a little slimey and learn something new in this fantastically disgusting workshop.

This workshop is recommended for ages 6 – 12. Children must be accompanied at all times.

Dorothy’s Easter Trail at Fota House, Arboretum & Gardens Cork

Join us for a breath of fresh air this Easter at Fota House, Arboretum & Gardens, one of Cork’s most idyllic locations, on Friday 19th and Sat 20th April. The magnificent Arboretum will be the setting for Dorothy’s Trail, which will bring the history and beauty of Fota alive for everyone.  Amongst the trees and wildlife, follow the woodland path, leading you to your very own Easter treat!

This self-guided Easter Trail follows in the footsteps of the young Dorothy Bell, Fota’s former owner, as she explores her imagination in the gardens. At the finish, claim your yummy chocolate egg, kindly sponsored by Cadbury’s. Come along for an EGGciting day out for all the family that is suitable for all ages!

Easter at Stradbally Woodland Railway

All aboard! Easter steam trains are back on the Stradbally Woodland Railway for 2019! Trains running Easter Sunday and Monday, April 21st and 22nd from 12-4pm. 

Tickets priced at €3 for children, €7 for adults with little ones under 5 going free. Tickets sold on the day at the platform and valid for as many trips as you like. 

Our train is fully wheelchair accesible.

Experience a family day out with a difference on Ireland’s first volunteer-run heritage railway.

Based on feedback from our Spooky Hollow Event last October, we have simplified the registration process for Hoppy Hollow to facilitate faster entry. We have also introduced a fast track queue for those who purchase online. Online Child ticket holders (and their accompanying adults) will join a separate fast track queue and once you present your paper ticket or e-ticket (on your phone) you will be granted entry. Adults pay on the door. Based on the demand for our last event and the fact that we are only running one day our recommendation is to advance purchase. Please allow some time for queuing as is the norm for these types of events.

Pembroke Fencing Birthdays

Pembroke Fencing Club offers a unique party experience for your child’s birthday. No experience required! Let their imagination run wild to create a great adventure through this Olympic sport. Our professionally trained staff will teach your party guests the sport of Olympic fencing in a safe and fun environment.

What you need

We provide all the equipment needed (jackets, masks, and fencing foils) for a non-stop sword fighting birthday extravaganza. We’ll suit everyone up in jackets and masks, teach the basics of fencing and play group fencing games. With team games and fun props, your child’s party is sure to be one to remember. We provide one or one and a half hours of fencing fun at your home. If you do not have the room for fencing event, we can organize to hire the hall or you can yourself find the hall.

Firstly, the instructor shows the children how to stand, move, attack and defend (fencing style). Finally, they are shown target areas and safety. Next, they are suited up in the fencing gear and then they begin the fencing games. The games are played one against one and group against a group. Choose from the packages below or contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

Our parties are designed for two different group ages:

The Musketeers Adventure – for kids 6 to 10.

60-90 minutes of fencing games and sword-fighting entertainment for everyone in a real fencing club environment.

For the little ones, we’ll start with a fun warm up game and an interactive lesson in how to move like a fencer.

The kids will learn then about the fencing equipment and get the chance to suit up in real fencing gear.

This is a great time for girls and boys with a sense of adventure and a love of swords.

 This package gives you the option to use, instead of real fencing gear, the special fencing play suits, lighter and easier to manage, for the little ones.

Knights in White – for 10 to 16 years old

If your son or daughter keeps bugging you about trying fencing, Knights in White is exactly what you’re looking for – fun and exciting, the feeling of being a real fencer on the strip, facing your opponent (and earning your pizza slice right after!).

We’ll begin with a short introduction to fencing, basic rules, strategy and actions.

Young aspiring fencers will try target practice, drills and bouts.

In addition to our fun Birthday Parties, our club offers Fencing Parties for both kids and adults, for a rate of 20.00 euro per person, for a minimum of 8 people for 1,5 h private group instruction, including: basic rules, score touch system, equipment and fencing bouts (matches) – hours of fun, being active and trying something new!!

Venue requirements

The fees do not include venue hire or catering. Teens and Adults

We offer events for teens and adults. Whether it’s just for an evening out, an office event or a bachelor/ette party, fencing events are a great way to connect. We teach the basics so you can fence against one another and have a great time learning a new skill. We provide all the necessary fencing equipment. You should wear athletic attire (sneakers, t-shirt, and long athletic pants or leggings).  Daytime, evening and weekend openings available. Contact by e-mail to start your booking.

Costs

The basic event cost is €150 for one hour or €200 for two hours. Additional participants beyond 10 cost €10 and €15 respectively.

Deposit for Party/Event

To reserve your event, the deposit €100 must be paid in advance. Any fees for additional fencers can be paid day-off. An invoice will be sent once a date has been confirmed via e-mail.

Other Info

A maximum number of participants kept to about 30.
A minimum number of participants is 2.
Age minimum is 6. There is no age maximum.
