Christmas at Castlecomer Discovery Park Kilkenny

UPDATED 2020 DETAILS COMING SOON….

Christmas at Castlecomer Discovery Park Kilkenny where you are invited to start your adventure at the North Pole Station and take the Santa Express through the enchanted woodlands. The twinkling light displays amongst the trees are a sight for sore eyes and really hep set the festive mood.

Once you reach the Christmas Village, you’ll have time to explore. Children can also play at leisure in the elf and fairy village, where imaginative playgrounds feature bouncing nets and a Junior Woodland Adventure Course.

Meet Mrs Claus

The igloos are cosy and warm and full of festive spirit and it’s here that children will meet Mrs Claus to hear tales of mischievous elves and life in the North Pole.

Last but not least, it’s time to visit the great man himself. Each child will have the opportunity to spend time alone with Santa Claus, to whisper their wish list in his ear and to receive a memorable gift.

The duration of the Christmas experience is approximately 90 minutes. It’s at a relaxed and enjoyable pace, making sure you can take time to soak up every ounce of magic from beginning right through to the end. Families are welcome to return to the elf village to spend more time at play.

Autism Friendly Santa Experience

We are pleased to offer an Autism Friendly Santa Experience once again this year. The lights, the smells, the crowds and all of the things that we love about Christmas can be extremely overwhelming to someone who struggles with sensory input. In recognition of this, we have created a “sensory friendly” option for our visitors with autism or sensory processing difficulties.

We have scheduled Friday 13th December at 15.00 for those wishing to have a more sensory friendly Santa experience.

This is not available to book online, please contact us by phone on 056 4440707 or email info@discoverypark.ie with your details.

Ticket prices are €25.00 per child and €15.00 per adult; Babies 0 -12 months €5

Accio Adventure: Harry Potter Day

Saturday 19th October
Time : 10.00 & 1.00 (2 sessions)
Price: €15 per child /Adults & Kids under 3 FREE

Grab your wand and broom for a day of fun and magic. On 19th October Castlecomer Discovery Park will host a Harry Potter day. You may have read the books, seen the movies; now experience a Harry Potter Themed day in Kilkenny. A special Harry Potter themed walking trail will be ready for young wizards and witches to explore. Solve the clues along the trail and discover the magic of the Discovery Park. “The wand chooses the wizard,” says the worlds best wandmaker Mr. Ollivander. Learn what it takes to make the most important tool to a magical person-a wand. Wand lore is highly advanced magic, that usually requires years of study but for one day only you can learn how to make a wand. Flying is the mode of transport most wizards prefer. While it’s not as fast as some other modes of transport, it is the most fun. Grab a broom as the Discovery Park is providing lessons for you to take to the sky.On the day you can meet Snowy the Owl, try your hand at Quidditch and maybe meet some characters that you know and love from the book and movies. We are encouraging visitors to come dressed as their favourite Harry Potter characters, and we will be giving prizes for the best costumes. All activities will be open to everyone-even muggles. Please note that this is a largely outdoor event so dress for all weathers.
