Splatmaster Junior Paintball

Splatmaster is a low impact tag combat sport that shoots color filled round Ammo resulting in a Splat. The Ammo is 100% biodegradable, non toxic, resists stains, and easily washes away with water.

After a short safety briefing, you play against other players in a number of game scenarios such as Territories and Capture the flag. You will feel some impact (or the game doesn’t work), but it is much more tame than regular Paintball. Splatmaster is safe, fun, thoroughly enjoyable and suitable for ages 8-12s.

Splatmaster is played in a realistic game zone similiar to Airsoft. This goes down well with the kiddies who are not old enough yet to play Airsoft. It is a tamer version of Airsoft so ideal for children aged 8 and up. We can accommodate large groups or if you are only a few players you can join our popular open Splatmaster skirmishes each month.  Archery Tag

Archery Tag is soaring in popularity, propelled by the Hunger Games series and hit TV shows Game of Thrones and Walking Dead in which bows feature prominently as the weapon of choice.

Developed in the US, Archery Tag pits two teams against each other in a dodgeball-type battle. But instead of balls, players try to take each other out with custom-made, foam tipped arrows. Unlike Paintball, you won’t get bruised or hurt all over for days!

The official version of the game is played by two teams with five players each, but it can be played with teams consisting of as few as four players or as many as 10.

Archery Tag is fun, very safe and simple to get the hang of. It’s suitable for all ages from your 10 year old to the CEO of your company as we have 16lb to 28lb bows for whatever your strenght! Archery Tag involves: an area the size of a five aside pitch or larger. Archery Tag sessions last 1.5 hours and can be played with as little as 8 players to much larger groups.

Redhills is a unique venue (a diversified old farm) just off the M7, a few kilometers outside of Kildare town catering for all ages 8 years and up with a range of fun, exciting and different to the norm activities for your Redhills Adventure School tour! Teachers and Facilities

We recognise that the teachers need some attention as well, so we supply travelling teachers with free lunch, tea and coffee. Our activity zones are fully supervised with Garda vetted and trained instructors who have an excellent understanding of looking after groups of young children to ensure all involved have a fun and safe day out.

Onsite Tuck Shop – Sweets and Treats

Changing Facilities – Due to the large number of children involved, our conventional changing facilities can often delay proceedings so we provide a boys and girls outdoor sheltered area to change which must be supervised by the teachers. If a private changing area is required, please advise in advance.

Lunch Area
Our large indoor seating area (non activity) is perfect for bad weather should it occur. In most instances and to ensure maximum activity time, we generally host breaks in the outdoor game zones. Teachers will be provided with a seated and sheltered area overlooking the game zones.

Weather
Redhills Adventure is an outdoor centre and we operate no matter what the weather (within reason). We have shelters installed in the game zones and a large indoor registration area (non-activity) for lunch break if necessary. None of our activities involve water however should it rain, a change of clothes is recommended. All children participating in Splatmaster must have legs and arms covered.

Bus Parking and Locating Us
We recently upgraded our bus parking facilities. We are located 5kms outside Kildare Town. The roads are suitable for double decker coaches. Please refer your bus company to us if they have any questions regarding getting to us. We are on Google Maps.

Quadventure Wexford

Quadventure Wexford offers Quad Biking – an exciting and adventurous sport with an element of risk involved. Before you begin, you must watch a Safety DVD read the Track Rules and sign a form to say that you are participating at you own risk and in the case of a minor (under 18) a parent or guardian must sign the form. Wear long sleeves, long trousers and socks as boots will be provided. In Winter dress warmly i.e. layers and layers and bring gloves. Helmets and protective gear are provided. A change of clothes is advisable.

Age, Driving Experience and size will all determine your session. It can be a gentle trek or a challenging adventure, but regardless of where you start or finish, rain or shine, you’ll have a great time at Quadventure.

The course is set out over 80 acres under the Scenic Backdrop of the Blackstairs Mountains. There are level fields, dug out ditches, dips and turns and waterlogged gripes to drive through. You can pause to take in the stunning scenery and then continue the adventure.

A session takes 1hour 30mins in total with a driving time of approx. 45mins.

Add the Rodeo Bull Challenge to your session  for a small fee. Bouncy Castle available for the little ones.

We are open almost everyday during the summer. Make sure to call to book a session as booking is required.

The challenging course is spread out over 80 acres under the scenic backdrop of the Blackstairs Mountains. On holidays once visited, it’s the place everybody wants to return to and word of mouth has proven to be our best form of advertising to date.

Easter at Dublinia

Viking Weaponry

Find out all about arms and armour in Ireland c. 795 – 1171.  A wide range of reproductions will be presented showing the equipment used in Viking Age Ireland including swords, shields, spears, bows, and axes, the skills and tactics of these shall also be discussed in detail. Finally, get a chance to see a range of domestic Viking goods including unique Irish Hiberno-Norse buckles, jewellery,  hack silver and Dublin coins die.

Dress like a Viking

Come along and examine up close the clothing and trappings which Dubliners of the Viking Age would have worn.   A range of domestic Viking clothing including cloaks, tunics, hats and shoes will be presented alongside accessories including Hiberno Norse belts, brooches and bracelets.   There will also be Military items such as helmets and swords.  Find out how they all were produced and what materials were used, bring any of your Viking fashion questions and we will endeavor to answer!

Meet our Viking Coin Minter from Montague Heritage Services. Watch him demonstrate this special art of coin minting and listen as he shares his knowledge of Viking arts and crafts. You can find Olaf at the craft stall in our Viking Dublinia exhibition on your visit.

Viking Tablet Weaving

Come and see how Medieval spinning and Viking tablet weaving are done. See a Medieval Spinster at work using a drop spindle to turn fleece into yarn, one of the most basic skills necessary for traditional fabric making.  With tablet weaving, complicated braid making is explained and demonstrated with displays of intricate designs upon the loom and tablets.

The Big Dig

Dig for ancient Viking treasure at the Dublinia Big Dig

Put your hard hat on and get your hands dirty to experience life as an Archaeologist.

The Big Dig is all included in your entrance fee to Dublinia! So come and join the Big Dig in the grounds of Dublinia from the 24th to the 27th of April, where visitors will get to take part in our very own simulated archaeology excavation.

It promises to be a fun packed family event where children will get a chance to discover how archaeologists excavate and hopefully find some artefacts and treasures of their own.

Dig Times are at 10.30am/11.30am/12.30pm/2.30pm and 3.30pm.  No booking is necessary and entrance is part of the normal admission price.

Papercraft Party with Fionnuala (available weekend afternoons)

Fionnuala will make help the kids make papercrafts that tie in with your child’s interests. We can make fairy wands, pirate swords, animal masks and everything in between. Obsessed with Frozen? We can make Frozen crowns! Love the minions? What about minion masks? Let us know what your child likes and we will do our best to accommodate it! The children go home with all their creations.
