Are you brave enough to tour the zoo in the dark and taste some creepy critters including crickets, beetles and pupae?
The team at the National Reptile Zoo want to increase understanding of the world’s reptiles and amphibians, helping to conserve animals and their habitats as well as to offer opportunities for learning and enjoyment to the public.
Open 10am to 6pm, seven days a week, year round, with over 50 exhibits, Animal Encounter Zone, Tropical Walk-through Habitat, indoor and outdoor Picnic Area, Snack Bar, Souvenir Shop and Soft Play Area, National Reptile Zoo Kilkenny can keep the entire family entertained and educated all at once!
Enjoy a unique and unmissable Halloween experience with Zombie Zoo Keepers, an alligator feeding display, ghoulish games, sinister snacks and much more, this #HalloweenSpooktacular is not to be missed!

Visited here in Summer 2015 and it’s well worth a look. The team are very knowledgeable and passionate and getting up close to these reptiles is a really a unique experience that you simply won’t get anywhere else! We saw lots of reptiles, large snakes and were simply a sheet of polycarbonate away from the crocs/alligators. Viewing the inhabitants of the zoo during the day is one thing – doing it at night with just a glow stick adds an extra element! Hope we don’t meet this guy in the dark!
