Waterford & Suir Valley Railway

When you arrive at Kilmeadan Station (Waterford & Suir Valley Railway) you will board the train. The conductor will check your train tickets and give you red blankets to keep you nice and cosy on the journey. Christmas music will be playing.

When everyone is safely on board the train will set off on an exciting journey through the countryside along the banks of the River Suir and in to the Magic Wood where you will meet Mrs Claus and some friends. Mrs Claus will give the children magic dust to sprinkle on the lawn on Christmas night. The train journey lasts about 25 minutes.

You then return to the station, go through the Carriage shop to visit Santa as a family. Santa is in a cosy cottage outside the carriage. It snows outside Santa’s Cottage. The children will have a nice chat with Santa and get a good quality present. Photos are optional at €5.00

To entertain you at the station before or after your trip you can meet the Mayfield Birds of Prey – They have beautiful barn owls – Boo, Bobbins, Muffin, Peanut and Hiccup or you could meet Izzy the Bengal Eagle Owl or a magnificent Harris Hawk.

Hot chocolate, tea, coffee and snack will be available in the Carriage shop and at Mrs Claus’s Hot Chocolate stand.

Rathwood Halloween Pumpkin Train

Join us at Rathwood Carlow this Halloween for a spooktacular Halloween adventure. On the adventure you will be greeted by friendly creatures, witches and a few spooky characters. Hop on the train if you dare to enter the enchanted woods where mysterious creatures live. It is your task to help Gretel travel safely through the enchanted woods to find her way home. If you are brave enough to enter the pumpkin patch in the enchanted woods you can pick your favourite pumpkin and with the help of our friendly witches carve your favourite picture onto it. When your pumpkin is complete, you can take it home. After your adventure you will receive free hot chocolate in our family restaurant to warm you up and relax after the spooky adventure.

Our Halloween adventure is suitable for children of all ages. We encourage both children and adults alike to dress up for this spooktacular adventure as there is a prize for the best fancy dress.

This event will run from the 19-20th of October and again from the 26th-31st of October. All bookings can be made online for this event, but hurry tickets are selling out fast.

However, the Rathwood experience does not just stop at our Halloween event. Rathwood offers a range of handcrafted furniture, stylish gifts, a top quality restaurant, charming garden centre,  forest walks and an outdoor children’s play area; the first of its kind in the region.

Not only do we offer a shopping experience, we also have a woodlands falconry where birds from all around the world are on display. Enjoy a walk in the woods accompanied by hawks and other birds.

While you are at Rathwood visit the Animal Park where you will see plenty of deer, sheep and American turkey. Then take a walk to our pond, the home to many ducks and geese. Food is available at reception for the ducks.

Join Santa’s elves on a wonderful journey through Santa’s Magical Trail – a fun filled experience for children young and old! Approximately 75 minutes in duration, the elves will escort you through the trail where you’ll encounter all sorts of characters including the Mad Hatter, Lazybones, Mrs Clause, Snow White, Santa himself and perhaps even the odd OompaLoompa!

Santa at The Chocolate Warehouse – Dublin

Combining the excitement of Santa Claus and the surroundings of the Chocolate Warehouse will give any child memories to cherish for life.

When you enter The Chocolate Warehouse you will be greeted by Santa’s helpers before entering Chocolate avenue viewing fabulous Christmas scenes along the way. Then you enter Santa’s house at the end of the avenue where you will meet Santa and receive a Christmas gift. After leaving Santa’s house you proceed to the Post Room to post your letter to the North Pole. Santa’s Winter Wonderland is located overground at Crazy Cave Indoor Adventure Centre.

While the children are waiting to meet Santa, one of his elves will lead them into his Magical Winter Wonderland. Here they will see Santa’s Bedroom, the Elves Bedrooms, Snow Scenes, Polar Bears, meet Mrs Claus and have a go on an Animated moving ride.

Then each family will be taken down into Santa’s Grotto to meet the big man himself. From Santa each child will receive a Present and a Treat Bag with a drink & sweets.

After saying farewell to Santa and his helpers, the path leads back into Crazy Cave where each child gets one and a half hours play included in the visit.

Moher Hill Open Farm and Leisure Park is located on the Western Seaboard beside the famous Cliffs of Moher. It is run by the Canavan Family, Delia, Martin, Shane, Lorraine and Alan. The farm opened its doors on the 16th of June 2000 comprising of 6 acres and since then has expanded and developed into a 14 acre family farm park.

The farm was created to teach and educate visitors about animals, both those traditional to Irish farms and those from a more exotic origin. Over the years has developed a range of facilities to meet customer demand including a mini-golf course, bouncing castle, and in-door and out-door play areas.
