EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum

EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum

You won’t find leprechauns or pots of gold at EPIC, but you’ll discover that what it means to be Irish expands far beyond the borders of Ireland through the stories of Irish emigrants who became scientists, politicians, poets, artists and even outlaws all over the world. Discover Ireland from the outside in and find out why saying “I’m Irish” is one of the biggest conversation starters, no matter where you are.

Did You Know?

  • Rihanna has Irish ancestors! Her Irish surname, Fenty, inspired the name for her makeup line.
  • Three members of the Beatles – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison – all come from families of Irish descent.
  • Irish physicist John Tyndall was the first to explain why the sky is blue.

TAKE YOUR CLASS ON A JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY

Imagine – a museum with no artefacts! EPIC is truly a museum for the digital age, and with more steps being taken towards digital learning, it is the perfect place for your school tour.

The museum has 20 interactive galleries and explores global Irish history and identity from many different angles – whether your students are interested in politics, science, art and design, fashion, engineering or sport. With ties to the primary school curriculum, your students will learn something new, and have loads of fun – all at the same time!

Stonehall Visitor Farm Limerick

School Tours at Stonehall Wildlife Park Limerick

School tours

Stonehall Wildlife Park is a must for all students to enjoy a great day out with their class mates.

Stonehall Wildlife Park has 25 years of experience welcoming Schools to the Park so we know what teachers and children want and enjoy.

We give the students a fully guided tour of the exotic and domestic animals in the park which include Ostriches Emus Llamas Alpacas Meerkats  a variety of Birds of Prey and the domestic breeds from Sheep Ponies Ducks Geese. The small animals such as Chipmunks Bunnies Chinchillas  and aviaries of beautiful birds are viewed in an indoor area to mention but a few, it’s here where the students absorb all the information and take with them when they leave the park.  So on the tour we want all the children to put on their bunny ears to absorb all this information.

Students and teachers bring a packed lunch with them where they can enjoy it in the indoor playarea which consists of a bouncy castle and ride on go karts. (Subject to Covid 19 guidelines)  Teas & Coffees available for the teachers.

As we run a Green Farm Policy we request that the children take their waste rubbish home with them.

The cost of the tour is 10 euro per child. Teachers & Special needs assistants are free.  Any additional adults or siblings are 10 euro.

You can pay on arrival to farm on the morning of the tour. You can pay by cash/card or cheque, made payable to Stonehall Visitor Farm.
