Ultimate Big Brother star and TV host Brian Dowling returns to Dublin to play the hilarious Genie. Brian who is no stranger to panto said, “Although I am now based in the UK there is something about Christmas which makes me want to be at home with my family in Ireland. I was delighted when Alan and Karl asked me if I would come home this Christmas and once again join my ‘panto family’ at the Tivoli. It has been a number of years since I stepped onto that stage but I am really looking forward to it’.

Alan Hughes (TV3) returns to his role of the now famous ‘Sammy Sausages’ alongside Rob Murphy as the daddy-loving and children’s favourite ‘Buffy’, Donal Brennan who will play the title role of Aladdin and CARL STALLWOOD who is returning to the Tivoli to play the role of the Abbanazar.

Producer and writer Karl Broderick said he is so excited about this year’s cast and promised that Aladdin will be Anthem Productions, biggest most spectacular panto ever.

Take a magical trip on The Forest Train Wicklow to visit Santa and his hardworking (and some not so hardworking) elves in his workshop, deep in the forest. Santa and his Elves are delighted to be back in Avondale Forest Park this Christmas.

Experience the winter wonderland as The Forest Train rambles through the breath-taking mature forest park. Keep an eye out for Noodle the lazy Elf who is running late for work! Stop off at his house and see if you can help the other elves wake him up. But, please don’t let Santa know.

When the train reaches its secret destination deep in the forest, Noodle will lead all the families into the workshop. The elves are waiting to meet all the children and there will be plenty of fun, songs and dancing while you wait to see Santa.

From his office, overlooking the workshop floor, each family will be called to see Santa individually.

Santa is working away in his office , he is checking his big book and you better watch out; he knows something about everyone, young and old! After meeting Santa every child will receive a wooden themed gift and can get a special photo taken with the big man in red.

After your Santa visit, there will be lots to do in the magnificent Christmas Barn.  There will be a very special story-time, taking place each hour.  The Barn will have a seated area where beverages and refreshments will be available.

There will be a carnival theme in The Barn with carnival stalls to prove your skills. We are very excited to say the Electric Zoo animals will be back to join the festive and fun atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Trick or Treat Trails at the GAA Museum

Trick or Treat Trails at the GAA Museum are back! Led by our stadium tour guides, these special tours involve a treasure hunt as part of the behind-the-scenes stadium tour and are designed especially for families and the younger GAA fans. Families will follow clues around the stadium, walking pitchside along the way, before collecting a treat in the GAA Museum. Come in fancy dress and join in the fun!

Trick or Treat Tours last approx. one hour and are suitable for children of 10 years and under, accompanied by an adult. Tours take place at 11.30; 12.30; 14.30 and 15.30 on Saturday October 29th, Sunday October 30th and Monday October 31st. Advance online booking is advised to avoid disappointment.

October Mid-Term at the GAA Museum

Following the Trick or Treat Trails on the October Bank Holiday weekend, the fun continues at Croke Park for the remainder of the Mid-Term Break. From Tuesday November 1st to Sunday November 6th, there will be two family friendly additions to the Croke Park Stadium Tour.

Following each behind-the-scenes tour, our guides will lead younger visitors on a special Junior Explorer route around the GAA Museum, which highlights some of the most fascinating and famous exhibitions. The Junior Explorer mascot Cluasóg, the Irish hare, will also be on hand to assist and pose for photos!

Visitors will also have the unique chance to lift the Sam Maguire and Liam MacCarthy cups! The iconic silverware will be on display in the GAA Museum throughout the week and there’ll be a chance to take plenty of family pictures as you raise the cups in victory! (Please note: The cups will not be available on October 29th and November 5th).

After you’ve tasted the scent of victory, it’s time to taste some scarily good food at the Blackthorn Café at the GAA Museum, which will serve a spooky themed menu throughout the week.
