GloHealth Christmas Wonderland 2013

funderlandGloHealth Christmas Wonderland a festival of family entertainmentaims to capture the magic of Christmas for the whole family all in one location at the RDS from December 6th.

From ISkate Irelands largest ice rink, to the foods of a Continental Market and including Funderland, a special Santa’s Christmas Circus, an adventure journey through Jingle Town, the famous Custard Pie puppet company and award winning international illusionist Guy Barrett.

GloHealth Christmas Wonderland will be a festival to delight the senses and capture the joy and fun of the season all in one location.

i – Skate On Ice

Ice Skating has become part of an Irish Christmas. iSkate On Ice – Ireland’s largest Christmas ice rink – was introduced to the RDS in 2012 with huge success. iSkate now becomes part of GloHealth Christmas Wonderland. Covering an area in excess of 1,000 Sq. metres, iSkate offers an unrivalled skating experience.


This year Funderland becomes part of GloHealth Christmas Wonderland, and will once again present the best thrill rides and family attractions in the European fairground.

From Bounceworld and the Fun Factory to the Take Off and Inversion XXL “white-knuckle” rides,  Funderland will present an array of attractions to suit all ages and tastes. For those who prefer to remain on “terra firma” lots of games of skill and chance will offer hours of pure fun and the opportunity to win one of Funderland’s famous soft toys

Santa’s Christmas Circus

Presented by the world famous Fossett family, Santa’s Christmas Circus will thrill, amaze and entertain you and your family.

Stare in wonder at the contortionist and be amazed by the Circus Illusionist! Cry with laughter as Clown Otto tries to help Santa make his way back to the North Pole in time for that very special night. Join with with Marion Fossett as she leads the circus artists and audience in a seasonal sing-a-long.

Jingle Town

Children step into the fantasy world of Jingle Town where the new mayor has banned all music, singing and fun.Santa Claus has been arrested and Jingle Town has lost its jingle! Can the chimney sweeps little boy, Jessie, Dusty the bear and Rocky the dragon-fly save the day?

Heart-warming live and interactive, Jingle Town is full of exciting action and adventure where children can meet the characters and have their photo taken.

Continental Christmas Market

At GloHealth Christmas Wonderland, wooden chalets will create a village atmosphere with all the sights and smells of the traditional Continental Christmas. Stallholders will offer everything from traditional sausage and Schnitzel, Gluwhein and Gingerbread.

A place to relax, stroll and enjoy the speciality foods, the Continental Christmas Market will create the perfect atmosphere for a Christmas family outing.

Custard Pie Puppet Company’s Christmas Show

Enjoy a magical experience with Custard Pie Puppet Company’s Christmas Show Featuring a stocking-full of seasonal cheer, with sing-a-long favourites, a galaxy of stars and generous portions of audience interaction!

Meet Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and other surprise guests in this wonderful puppet spectacular! So come and belly laugh your Christmas socks off! A 30 minute show suitable for all ages

Guy Barrett World of Magic & Illusion

This fast paced 45-minute Illusion show is a must see Christmas treat for the whole family. Spellbinding Illusions, Stunning Dancers and Fantastic variety artistes. The show stars award winning Illusionist Guy Barrett, who will blow your mind with the Classics of magic and the latest of Illusion

How To Get To The  GloHealth Christmas Wonderland

By Car

Outside Trinity College, take Nassau Street (N11) for about 150 metres then turn right following the signposts for the R118. Follow the R118 (also known as Mount Street which becomes Merrion Road) for approximately 2km. The RDS Main Complex will be situated on the right hand side.

To go to GloHealth Christmas Wonderland continue along the Merrion Road and turn right into Simmonscourt Road. GloHealth Christmas Wonderland is situated on the left hand side after the two office buildings.

By Bus

The RDS is serviced by bus routes number 4, 7 and 45, which stop outside the Main Hall Entrance to the RDS on the Merrion Road. Bus routes Number 4 and 7 stop outside Bewleys Hotel (located beside GloHealth Christmas Wonderland). These bus services can be availed of on Nassau Street outside Trinity College.

By Local

Train Dublin DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transport) service also operates from the City Centre to Ballsbridge.  Travel southbound to Lansdowne or Sandymount stations.
